About six months after sowing, the harvest of our organic castor beans begins, which is characterized by the browning and cracking of the pods. Due to the high toxicity of the castor seeds, we use mechanical equipment to harvest the ripe pods to avoid skin contact and inhalation of dust. The pods are then dried to make it easier to extract the seeds. These seeds are then shelled and cold-pressed using a hydraulic press at temperatures of up to 35 degrees, which enables gentle extraction of the high-quality oil. After extraction, the oil undergoes a filtration process that removes natural suspended solids and the toxic protein ricin.
After arriving in Germany, we subject our cold-pressed organic castor oil to a strict final inspection at our headquarters in Leonberg in our DIN ISO 17025-certified laboratory. The entire production process follows strict environmental and social standards to ensure the quality of the product and the protection of the ecosystem.
