Organic sunflower oil cold pressed

Gustav Heess

Our organic sunflower seeds are harvested when the back of the flower heads turn yellow to brown and the leaves begin to wilt. After harvesting, the sunflower seeds are cleaned and dried to achieve an optimum moisture content. The seeds are then hulled, separating the shells from the kernels. The sunflower seeds prepared in this way are crushed and passed through a conditioning process that heats the seeds and optimizes their consistency for oil extraction.

The oil is then pressed from the seeds by mechanical pressure, maintaining low temperatures to ensure the quality of the cold-pressed oil. The extracted raw sunflower oil is filtered to remove natural impurities, resulting in pure, cold-pressed organic sunflower oil, which is particularly valued for its natural properties and nutritional value.

Quality assurance is carried out according to a carefully developed test plan in our own laboratory, which is certified according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025. To ensure the accuracy and reliability of the test results, we supplement the internal analyses with external laboratory tests as required. The entire production process follows strict ecological and social guidelines that guarantee the quality of the product and the protection of the environment.

Usage

  • Cosmetics

    • Sunflower oil is rich in vitamin E and fatty acids that deeply hydrate and soften the skin, ideal for lotions and creams
    • Due to its light texture and good compatibility, it is often used as a base oil for blending with essential oils
    • Often used in shampoos and conditioners as it helps to retain moisture in the hair and prevent split ends
    • Helps maintain skin elasticity and can be used to prevent signs of ageing
    • Used in cleansing oils and creams as it gently removes impurities and make-up without drying out the skin
  • Food

    • Due to its high smoke point, sunflower oil is ideal for deep-frying, frying and baking at high temperatures
    • Often used as the main ingredient in the production of margarine and mayonnaise due to its favorable fatty acid composition
    • Ideal for sautéing vegetables and meat as it does not mask the natural flavor of the ingredients
    • It provides moisture and softness in cakes, muffins and bread and is therefore often used as a fat additive
    • Popular carrier oil - it is often used as a neutral base for infusion with herbs and spices to create flavored oils
    • Offers health benefits due to its high content of unsaturated fatty acids, especially valuable linoleic acid
